Required Documents from Clients

1.  For black and white mark or word mark, a soft copy of the trademark. For color trademark, 6 prints of less than 8cm*8cm hardcopy of the mark;

2.       A detailed list of products or services to be covered and the class(es) to be registered in the application;

3.      A copy of Certificate of Incorporation or Business Registration Certificate or anything of similar nature which shows the name and address of the applicant. A copy of passport and recent residential address proof in case the applicant is an individual;

4.      A priority document when priority is claimed. The document can be filed within 6 months after the filing date of the application.

Timescale

Currently it is taking approximately 8-10 months to get a trademark registered in Hong Kong for smooth applications.

Validity of the Trademark

The registration date (once your mark is approved) dates back to the actual date that you applied for registration.

The trademark is valid for ten(10) years from the registration date, then renewable.
